Before we can set up an appointment for you to meet our adoptable pets, we need you to fill out our adoption application!  Get it back to us in whatever way works best for you. If you have any questions about our available pets don't hesitate to give us a call.

Baloo

Breed: Lab mix
Age: 3 yrs

 This is our bear- I mean- dog, Baloo!  When Baloo arrived at LAH, he was  stubborn and highly independent. After months of training, he loves learning new things and pleasing his trainer.  Because of his size and background, it is recommended that Baloo go to an intermediate or advanced dog owner who can continue his training. He would benefit from a home that works with him daily. He loves to work, and loves to be pet.

Black Bean

Age: 1 year 
Sex: Neutered Male

Black Bean is energetic and excited to interact with everyone. Black Bean loves to go for walks, play with toys, and gets lots of love. He loves to be pet so much, he rolls on his back, tail wagging, with the biggest smile. Black Bean is a good boy, and is waiting for a home!

Breed: German Shepard Mix

Prime is an energetic and independent pup! He would do best in a home without small kids and would benefit most from a home with the time and resources to train and socialize him. Prime is a happy happy boy, and he loves to meet new people. He also loves to play with his toys. He shows no fear and is always ready for the next adventure.

Java Bean

Java Bean has a lot of energy and limited life experience. He needs a home with owners who are willing to train him and socialize him to the world. He is a very nice and funny pup, but he may be too much for young children because of his energy. Java needs someone to love him and teach him to make him feel more confident!

Vader

Breed: Lab mix
Age: 9 months 
Sex: Intact Male 
Resident as of: May 2024

He may be named after Darth Vader, but his only “dark side” is his coat color. Other than that, he is a very sweet boy! He has lots of puppy energy so could benefit from some training. Vader loves to explore and play with toys. Take him for a walk and he'll be your best friend! The shelter is no place for a puppy. He is the last one left out of his 4 siblings and 2 parents. Give Vader a chance!

Wallee is an affectionate and curious girl. Wallee is a senior with an unknown background and is estimated to be 10+ years. It is difficult to estimate her age with certainty due to the unique trait of missing all her teeth! Wallee, however, is a voracious eater with plenty of energy. Staff often find her  climbing kennels during free-roam. She also loves to be held or in your lap getting lots of chin scratches.
Because of her age and absence of teeth, it is recommended that Wallee be the only cat in the home or live with a small number of cats and people that can accommodate her needs.  Additionally, Wallee has allergies to certain foods, so she is on a special prescription diet.

Mammina
                                                                                                    Breed: Domestic Shorthair Tabby 
Age: 1.5 yrs
Sex: Spayed Female
Resident since: March 2024

Mammina was brought to LAH as a lactating stray missing her kittens. Fortunately, her arrival coincided with that of a litter of stray kittens needing a nursing mom. Her kittens have since been adopted, which leaves Mammina waiting for her new home. She is very affectionate and loves to cuddle. But even more than that, she absolutely loves to play with toys. Mina doesn't like dogs, and she is not the biggest fan of other cats.
All animals are given age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We currently have a few waiting to get spayed or neutered. If you are wanting to adopt, please fill out an application! We can give you a call if we get a dog or cat that you would be interested in. Since we get the city strays, there will always be another pet looking for their forever home.
